Volunteers at Bradford Cathedral have been filling shoeboxes after an appeal to give gifts to children living in poverty.
Scores of volunteers gathered last Saturday to pack and wrap shoeboxes for destitute children in the Bradford area. They were filled with warm gloves, hats and socks as well as toiletries, sweets and gifts.
It’s the first time the Cathedral has held the Shoebox Appeal and was organised by Cathedral Canon, Mandy Coutts in partnership with the Cinderella Club who were celebrating their 125th birthday.
Also taking part were volunteers from Bradford Sea Cadets and the volunteers managed to exceeed the target of 200 shoeboxes which have now been collected by children's charities for distribution.
