Gladly back in Yorkshire

Rt Revd Chris EdmondsonRetired Bishop and Bradford City fan the Right Reverend Chris Edmondson is happily back in Yorkshire and enjoying life as an Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese.

 

Bishop Chris was Bishop of Bolton in the Diocese of Manchester from 2008 until his retirement and move to Bradford in the summer of 2016.  

 

Prior to this, following ordination in 1973, he served as a curate in Huddersfield and a vicar in Halifax, before moving in 1986 to be Diocesan Missioner for six years in the Diocese of Carlisle. 

 

He then to returned to Yorkshire in 1992, where for 10 years he was Vicar of St Peter's, Shipley.

 

From 2002 until his consecration in April 2008, he was Warden of the Lee Abbey community and conference centre in North Devon. 

 

Bishop Chris has chaired the Trustees of Scargill House since 2009, and is also the author of a number of books on leadership and community. 

 

He is married to Susan and they have two married adult sons.

 

A trained musician, Bishop Chris is also a keen sports fan, being proud to have been a Bradford City season ticket holder since 1992, and is also a member of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
