Honorary Canons to be welcomed into our Cathedrals

The first cohort of our three cathedrals’ new Honorary Canons for 2019 will be welcomed at Ripon Cathedral on Sunday, with further services to take place at Wakefield and Bradford.

Diocesan Secretary Debbie Child is to become an Honorary Lay Canon at the Ripon service, which takes place at 3.30pm on January 27 and is also when the Diocese’s Director of Education, Richard Noake will be made a Capitular Canon. 

Clergy being welcomed to their roles at Ripon are:

 

Revd Brendan Giblin – Honorary Canon

Revd Veronica James – Honorary Canon

Revd Matthew Peat – Honorary Canon

Revd Penny Yeadon – Honorary Canon

Revd Leslie Newton – Ecumenical Canon

Wakefield Cathedral will install the following people at a special Evensong at 3.30pm on Sunday, February 24:

Revd Sandra Benham – Honorary Canon

Revd Rachel Firth – Honorary Canon

Revd Vaughan Pollard – Honorary Canon

Mrs Jane Evans – Honorary Lay Canon

Mr Irving Warnett – Honorary Lay Canon

 

 

Bradford Cathedral will hold the same service of welcome at a date later in the year, when the following clergy will be installed:

Revd Mike Cansdale – Honorary Canon

Revd Kathia Shoesmith – Honorary Canon

Revd Phil Stone – Honorary Canon

Revd Michael Wood – Honorary Canon
