Hustings for the EU referendum are well underway across the diocese with just a few days to go to register your vote and three weeks to go to polling day.
The Bishop of Huddersfield, Bishop Jonathan will chair a hustings on Wednesday June 8 in Huddersfield Parish Church from 7.30-9pm.
For the Leave campaign, the audience will hear from Amanda Vigar, V&A Vigar Group (Vote Leave). And for Remain, Dr Ali Naqvi, Leeds University Business School (Stronger In). The two will present their opening cases, followed by questions from the floor before closing remarks.
In or Out? The question of whether or not Britain should leave the European Union will be debated in the hallowed setting of Halifax Minster.
The event, the next in the Minster Series of lectures, with Halifax MP Holly Lynch, is organised by Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce Calderdale Business Forum and takes place on Thursday, June 9, at 6.30pm.
The specialist panel guests are Shadow Leader of the House of Commons, The Rt Hon Chris Bryant MP, who will argue to stay as members of the European Union, and Alex Story – Head of Business Relations for ‘Leave.eu’ who will argue the case for Brexit.
