A huge crowd joined St Luke's Holbeck for their Palm Sunday morning services and parade.
Vicar, the Revd Alistair Kaye, said, "People came out in their droves waving palms and singing along to the Salvation Army Band as we walked from Hunslet Salvation Army to the church.
"We had a beautiful donkey join us on the procession - and we even took the risk of bringing it into church.
"It was a tremendous way to celebrate the beginning of Holy week."
Palm Sunday takes place a week before Easter Sunday, and commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on a donkey. It marks the beginning of Holy Week, a week in which Christians remember and reflect on the events leading up to Jesus'
death and resurrection.
