The Revd Simon Cowling, Rector of Bolton Priory, is to be the Interim Acting Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven from Sunday 19 July. Simon’s appointment comes as a result of the appointment of the previous Archdeacon, Paul Slater, as Bishop of Richmond.
Commenting on his appointment Simon said, “I feel privileged to have been entrusted with this interim ministry by the Bishop and look forward immensely to working with colleagues and with parishes across the archdeaconry for the next few months.”
Simon continues in his role as Rector of Bolton Abbey, combining his responsibilities in the parish with his interim role as Acting Archdeacon until Paul Slater’s successor takes up his or her role.
