Leeds church gets to heart of the matter

A Whitkirk church have recently been blessed with new medical equipment to help in the community.
Christ Church Lofthouse PCC members recently discussed the practicalities of fundraising to purchase and install an Automated External Defibrillator, or AED, at the church, and concluded that it would be some time before they could achieve their goal.
However, they hadn’t reckoned on the generosity of medical equipment company, Clinical Engineering Ltd, and the serendipitous conversation initiated by a PCC member’s son, Ben Crowley.
Ben, a community first responder, happened to mention that his mum, Emma who is a PCC member and Guide leader at the Church, was interested in sourcing any refurbished units at a reduced price and the firm generously donated one free of charge.
The Revd Mandy Rhodes, Team Vicar, explained that fundraising now only needs to focus on a heated outdoor unit to house the AED, which will make it accessible for the whole community.
If you would like to support this fundraising initiative, please send donations to Lofthouse PCC c/o The Vicarage, 8 Church Farm Close, Lofthouse, WF3 3SA.
