One of our churches in Leeds has recently featured on a BBC program looking at responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in Yorkshire.
St Edmund’s Roundhay’s actions were part of an episode of the BBC’s Inside Out Yorkshire and Lincolnshire program.
The episode showed how the church is using livestreaming to remain connected to its congregation, as well as what practical steps it is taking to help those most vulnerable in their area.
It included an example of this, following Sarah Meredith, Operations Manager for the church, as she helped an elderly gentleman get his hot and cold running water fixed.
Revd Nigel Wright, Vicar at St Edmund’s (pictured, left), said: “It was a really positive experience being on the program.
“They were really good; compassionate, understanding, sensitive, and keen to show how we as the church are taking a lead in supporting those most in need in the parish.”
