This autumn events are being held across the diocese to celebrate and encourage church growth. In the Leeds Episcopal Area the 'Celebrate 5' event is taking place at Leeds Minster on Saturday 8 October at 4.30pm
It will be preceded at 2pm by workshops in different venues in Leeds city centre. The topics include:
- Dementia
- Faith in the workplace
- Engaging with people on the margins
- Schools
- Discipleship
- Urban Partnership
There will also be a get together with Bishop Paul in Leeds Minster at 2pm for all those confirmed this year.
The C5 event at 4.30pm will include traditional and contemporary worship, a sermon from Bishop Paul, examples of local growing churches, a prayer installation and litany for growth and a final 'take away' challenge to each PCC.
Robin Gamble, Bishop's Adviser for Church Growth, says, “Celebrate 5 will be both a ‘coming together’ for each episcopal area and it will help build an emerging culture of growth in every church.
"We hope that every church will send along clergy and lay leaders plus two or three young people (teenagers and young adults). Please come and support your area, and help build a culture of growth in the diocese.”
