Meanwood celebrate the Queen\'s 90th and World Triathlon Event in style

Holy Trinity Meanwood will be celebrating both the Queen's official birthday and the International Triathlon Event (hosted for the first time in Leeds) during the weekend of 10-12 June.

With a flower festival running over the weekend and a vicarage garden party on Saturday 11 June, Holy Trinity together with the award-winning Meanwood School will keep everyone celebrating for the Queen and for the International Triathlon Event as it careers down Meanwood Road on Sunday 12 June.

The 1849 church will be filled with creative floral displays themed around each of the decades of the Queen’s life (and a surprise triathlon feature to spot). Pupils from Meanwood School are also crafting a display about the Queen for the event.

A preview evening on Friday 10 June will include cheese, wine and music. The festival will then be open from 10-4 on Saturday, with children's activities and café refreshments served. From 1-3.30pm all are invited to a vicarage garden party, to include barbecue, beer tent, cream teas, music and garden games.

The flower festival will reopen on Sunday at 11am after church services to welcome all those watching the cycling leg of the World Triathlon event for free refreshments.
