Merry Christmas Sowerby was writ large and bright at the St Nicholas’ Day Festival at St Peter’s Church in the village earlier this month.
The event started with a carol service during which a film of the local schoolchildren reading the nativity story was shown on projector screens.
And after the service, everyone moved outside to the village green for the official village lights switch on and then across the road to the Community Centre for the Christmas Market and Santa’s Grotto.
Just this weekend members of the congregation made nativity bracelets at the Advent All age worship service.
