Mothershare, a local Halifax charity which works in partnership with the Mother’s Union, has recently celebrated its 5th birthday.
In the Diocese of Leeds the Mother’s Union works in partnership with two local charities, Leeds Baby Bank and Mothershare, who both help to fight child poverty by supporting families in their communities who need basic equipment and clothing.
Jean Thurman, the Mothers’ Union Diocesan President, recently attended the 5 year celebratory event for one of those charities, Mothershare, and is pictured with Jackie, Mothershare’s secretary, presenting a bag of children’s clothing whilst receiving copies of the charities leaflets.
Reaching out to families in need in local communities is at the heart of the Mothers’ Union. They support the local charities by providing basic equipment and clothing for families in difficult situations, including those who need help with all the necessities after the birth of a baby.
