Motorcycling revs on the road again

Our motorcycling revs are taking to the roads again this Saturday - their latest ride out will take in the south western part of our Diocese.

They will meet at the McDonalds outlet for coffee on the Keighley bypass (BD21 3NB) from 10 am on Saturday morning before heading out over the moors to Hebden Bridge then to Mytholmroyd and over the moors again to Littleborough, and on to Hollingworth Lake before their next coffee stop.

Then back through Todmorden to Hebden Bridge and up over the moors past Heptonstall to Slack Top and to Widdop, and The Packhorse Inn for lunch. After lunch they will head to Trawden on their way back into Keighley expected around 3pm.

The motocycle group is made up of vicars, their partners and lay motorcyling enthusiasts and was formed at the start of the new Diocese of Leeds in 2014 as a way of meeting new colleagues and exploring the new geography of the new diocese. Their first trip circumnavigated the whole of the new diocese and since that time they have gone on pilgrimage following in the footsteps of Cuthbert to Iona and Patrick to Ireland.

Revd Canon Stephen Kelly, who recently retired as vicar and Area Dean of Wakefield , and now serves as Clergy Development Officer for the Huddersfield Episocopal Area, said the weather forecast was good and encouraged anyone interested to turn up.
