Murder in the Cathedral attracts over 70 young people

Murder in the Cathedral was the first event for young people across the Wakefield Episcopal Area as part of Bishop Tony's Community of All Saints.

The event brought 70 young people from across the  Area into Wakefield Cathedral on Friday night.

Divided into teams, they had to work together to play detective, find clues, interrogate suspects and find the evidence to unmask the murderer.

There were large games and small crafts on hand too as well as milk shakes, chocolate fountain, slush and pizza for tea.

Each team had to mime a Bible story - and we had The Good Samaritan, Feeding the Five Thousand, David and Goliath, Walking on Water and the winning mime pictured below, was Noah's Ark.

At the end the young people came together for worship which saw modern music intercut with striking images around the theme You've gotta love and was created and led by the Canon Precentor, the Revd Leah Vasey Saunders.

Thanks to the Revd Mark Vasey Saunders who led and wrote the Murder Mystery and thanks to all our suspects who played their parts so well..!!

Wakefield's Community of All Saints next youth event is the Big Night Out in May 20th. Bishop Tony would like to take a coach to this Christian youth event at Lightwater Valley if there is sufficient interest. The coach would leave Church House Wakefield at 12 noon and return around 10pm. Register your interest by emailing Caroline.asquith@leeds.anglican.org before the end of March.

There is a gallery of pictures from the event on the All Saints Community website.  You can find it here: www.allsaintscommunity.org.uk
