National harvest service broadcast from the Diocese of Leeds

Creation and the Harvest is the focus of this week’s upcoming Church of England digital service, broadcast from the Diocese of Leeds and led by the Bishop of Ripon, the Rt Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley.

Viewers from across the country on digital platforms such as Facebook and Youtube, will have the opportunity to join with Bishop Helen-Ann and members of St John’s Church in Sharow as they share readings and offer prayers for God’s creation.

The service will also feature contributions from a variety of guests from the Ripon Episcopal Area. These include Neil Heseltine (pictured with Bishop Helen-Ann), chair of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, and whose family have farmed for generations near Malham Cove. Kate Dale, a farmer alongside her family in the Vale of York, shares her reflections in the middle of the Harvest season, along with Yorkshire painter David Stead, who talks about his work and how it relates to themes of place and belonging.

The digital service will be broadcast at 9am this Sunday and can be found on the Church of England’s website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
