New card game to help refugees develop language

A new card game produced by one of our churches is going to help refugees and asylum seekers expand their vocabulary, make friends and develop their emotional wellbeing when they arrive in the UK.
Shine Words, from Shine West Bowling, has been produced in partnership with local families and schools in the area, and is made up of 105 illustrated cards labelled in eight different languages.
The cards can be used to play several different games, all designed to help people develop their language.
The cards are split into 14 categories, including emotions, health, friends and family, places and more.
Shine are operating a ‘One for One’ purchase system, meaning that for every pack bought one is given to a family of refugees or asylum seekers, or a supporting organisation.
The production of the game has been made possible with the support of the Sir Ken and Lady Morrison Fund, as well as Bradford for Everyone.
