Susan Rundle has been appointed as Director of Parish Resourcing for the Diocese of Leeds.
This is a new role to set up a team to resource parishes in accountancy, stewardship, governance and funding.
Joint Diocesan Secretary, Ashley Ellis, says, “This is a significant appointment because the resources which Susan and her team will set in place will help release parishes from some of the tasks of financial management, giving them greater freedom to focus on mission and ministry.”
Susan, who is currently Development Officer, says, “I am really looking forward to the challenge of the new team. I am passionate about enabling mission in parishes and so am really excited about the prospect of creating a new service which will ease some of the burden of administration. As this is a new role we’re going to spend some time talking to the parishes to establish exactly what they need before we launch.”
The team will bring together the existing Finance Services Team and the Stewardship, Funding and Development Teams.
Ashley adds, “As well as setting up training, the team will provide accounting services such as budgets, accounts and audits.
“Susan will be setting up a rolling programme which we hope we will be able to offer to parishes in early 2018”.
Susan has worked for the Diocese for 10 years supporting and enabling parishes to develop and fund innovative projects. This included five years as Development Director for Wakefield Cathedral, planning and fundraising for their major reordering.
Outside work she says she’s a keen netball player and enjoys walking and spending time with her family.
Susan begins her new post on 1 September.
