Reflections on how we can care for God’s green Earth are at the head of a host of new and updated resources about the environment from the Diocese of Leeds, in time for this year’s Season of Creation.
Prepared by Christine Jack, the new reflections look at how our call to care for our planet is rooted in the Bible, and are designed to help those looking to preach on the subject.
Reader-trained in the Church of England, Christine has taught on the Foundation Course in Theology and Ministry in the diocese, and continues to work in church and parish ministry, as well as being an active member of local environmental groups both in Church communities and more widely nationally.
The Season of Creation runs from September 1 until October 4 each year, with the theme for 2020 being ‘A Jubilee for the Earth’, based biblically on the idea of Jubilee which is found in Leviticus, making the Season a time to listen to prophetic voices.

“In the midst of the current situation, we must not lose sight of other issues which deeply affect our world.
“The Season of Creation is a time where we can focus on God’s call to all of us to protect the world He gave us, and I encourage churches to try to do so this September.”
