New reflective music for schools and churches from retired Skipton head teacher

CoverRetired church school head teacher, Brian Beresford, has published a new CD of original reflective music together with music and words for schools and churches based around the ‘I am’ sayings of Jesus.

Brian, who leads the music for All-age Worship at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Skipton, has been running song workshops in primary schools and writing music for many years. He was asked recently to write a song for a primary school whose pupils were studying the ‘I Am’ sayings of Jesus as recorded in John’s Gospel.

Brian explained, “The song was performed for parents, and I had numerous requests from those wishing to use the song in their own churches. I have now produced a CD that includes the song, ‘I Am’, plus a backing track.”

“In addition, I have added seven new reflective pieces to the CD with the aim of enhancing personal and spiritual responses to the seven sayings. The CD is appropriate for use with children and adults.”

Brian has been writing music for schools for many years and his CDs of reflective music are now used in more than 1000 churches and schools.

The tracks on the new CD, I am, include “I am the bread of life’, ‘I am the Light’, ‘I am the Gate’, ‘I am the Good Shepherd’, ‘I am the Resurrection’ , ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life’, and ‘I am the True Vine’.
