New Team Leader for Children, Young People and Families

Following a restructure and recruitment process, Liz Morton, has been appointed as Children, Young People and Families Team Leader.

Debbie Child, Joint Diocesan Secretary, says, “Our work with Children, Young People and Families is one of the most important areas we are engaging in, particularly as there are fewer opportunities than ever for them to learn about the Christian faith and what the Church can offer them.

“We are delighted that Liz Morton will lead this work, as she has many years of experience across the ages ranges, but also a significant amount of management experience which will be necessary as we develop this crucial area of work”.

Liz , who is currently 11-18's Adviser, says, “I’m thrilled to have been appointed. It’s a real privilege to support those involved in this area of mission and ministry.”

Liz will be working four days a week and she will be joined by Anne Carter plus three new team members to be recruited in the coming months.

The team will support the diocesan vision for growth and discipleship in relation to children, young people and their families. This will include ensuring that their voices are heard across our structures, and  training and equipping clergy, paid workers and volunteers.

Parishes can contact Liz and Anne via the Leeds office.
