New Team Rector calls for churches to shine out with God\'s love

New interim Team Rector Revd Richard Burge has been warmly welcomed into his role serving the the parishes of Harden and Wilsden, Cullingworth and Denholme.

Bishop Toby carried out the licensing at St John the Evangelist, Cullingworth, which was followed by well-attended refreshments in the village hall.

“The induction service was a great joy and a wonderful start to our time here,” Revd Richard said.

“It was lovely to meet so many people that we will get to know over the next three years. We received a great welcome.”

Revd Richard’s wife Heather is Executive Assistant to the Diocesan Secretary, Debbie Child, and he was previously the incumbent at Hartshead, Hightown, Roberttown & Scholes.

“My wife Heather and I are really pleased that we are here and settling in after the move and I’m particularly pleased to begin ministry in the Harden, Wilsden, Cullingworth, Denholme Benefice.

“I’ve spent my first few days visiting all the groups that meet in the churches and saying hello to everyone I meet.

“It is really important that the churches shine out with God’s love and joy in the communities they serve!” Richard said.
