A Launch Event will be held in October to prepare 80 members of the Huddersfield Episcopal Area for November’s Leading Your Church Into Growth (LYCIG) National Conference.
The event, ‘Encouraging and Equipping’, will look forward to November and prepare lay and clergy to make the most of the Conference by introducing the LYCIG local course to each parish and by building and implementing each church’s own plans for growth.
Those taking part in the LYCIG programme beginning this Autumn are also encouraged to attend.
The Rt Revd Jonathan Gibbs, Bishop of Huddersfield, says, “Leading Your Church into Growth is an exciting initiative and one that is vital for the future of our churches.
“I am delighted that so many parishes in the Huddersfield Area have signed up to take part and look forward to seeing many of you at the launch event on 8th October.”
‘Encouraging and Equipping’ will be led by Canon Robin Gamble, Leading Your Church into Growth Team Leader, and the Revd Paul Walker.
The Conference, in its 20th year this November, is a four day residential between the 2nd and 5th November in Swanwick, Derbyshire, which 80 people from the 35 Benefices in the Huddersfield Episcopal Area will be attending.
It is aimed towards local church leaders, lay and those who are ordained, providing interactive talks, practical exercises, workshops and time and space for personal reflection, encouraging and equipping churches to expand their communities.
The Launch Event will be held at The Worship Centre, St. Thomas’s Bradley, Huddersfield, HD2 1SL on Thursday 8th October from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Please book your places at this important event as soon as possible via Bishop Jonathan’s P.A., Brenda Malcolm: 01484 471801 or Brenda.malcolm@westyorkshiredales.anglican.org
