‘"Prepare the way of the LORD. Make straight the highways for our God ' The famous words sung in Handel's Messiah and taken from the Old Testament book of Isaiah Chapter 40 - have been taken literally by one West Yorkshire Church.
All Saint's Bingley have taken the prophet's words literally and created a new access way in time for their Christmas services..
Lending a hand was Father Christmas, taking time out of his busy pre Christmas Schedule to visit the church and help with the project to create a new access friendly path to All Saints, Bingley Parish Church.
The Rev’d Martyn Weaver, Vicar of All Saints, says “We are very pleased that Father Christmas was able to visit All Saints Church and help with our path project. He follows the Olympic Medal winners Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, who donated a signed Bingley Harriers vest to support the project.
"The path project will give level access to church for all, and with Father Christmas help, the path should now be ready in time for “Carols by Candlelight” at 6pm on Sunday 18 December and all the Christmas services.”
