Bridal models will once again be sashaying along a catwalk in the centre of Ripon Cathedral when the iconic 12th century building hosts its third wedding show this month.
The show is being organised by bridal company, The Wedding Affair on Saturday 24th January 2015 between 11.00am and 4.00pm. They have pledged, as they did in 2013 and 2014, a £5,000 donation to the Cathedral Development Campaign and the Music Trust.
Inside the Cathedral’s 12th century walls will be a Wedding Show with more than ninety wedding supply companies. They include nine Yorkshire wedding venues, and a wide selection of wedding suppliers. Under the Cathedral roof will be two professional musical catwalk shows, rock n roll bands, entertainment, a, complimentary hog roast and cocktails, as well as vintage tea rooms and workshops.
The money raised will be going towards a £5m target which aims to endow the Cathedral Music in perpetuity, secure and develop the Cathedral’s reputation as a major centre of musical excellence, provide accessible musical training through membership of the Cathedral Choir, develop an inclusive outreach programme to take musical excellence into the region and work in partnership with others who share a passion for music.
