Save The Date: First Diocesan Rock Mass

SAVE THE DATE: First Diocesan Rock Mass

Plans are well underway to stage the first Diocesan Rock Mass.

Wakefield Cathedral is hosting the event – on February 7 at 7pm.

Precentor, Canon Andi Hofbauer said: “This is the first Rock mass for the whole of the new diocese and we want people from the length and breadth of this region to come on down and help raise the roof of Wakefield Cathedral.”

Bishop Tony Robinson will preside and the music will be led by the Diocesan’s very own heavy rock star, the Revd Robb Sutherland who is priest in charge at Illingworth and Mixenden in the Huddersfield Episcopal Area. Last time he played in a diocesan wide rock mass at Dewsbury Minster there were over 500 communicants.

The service will celebrate Candlemas - Christ’s presentation at the temple - and begin to look towards Easter.
What does it mean to live our daily lives differently?
The Rock Mass is a service for people who like to worship God LOUD!  Expect hymns by artists like Evanescence, Bon Jovi and Linkin Park.
This is a service for everyone!
All are welcome, whether this is your first church service or your hundred and first church service.
Just turn up!
