Two clergy from the Bradford Area, Revd Dr. Alastair Kirk and Revd Paul Wheelhouse spent the morning of Maundy Thursday shining shoes.
Between 7.30am and 9am, Alastair and Paul were in action at their local railway station, Burley in Wharfedale, shining the shoes of commuters and railway employees.
For those mystified by their actions the explanation comes from the Gospels. Jesus washed the disciples feet at the Last Supper - the day before Good Friday - and shining shoes was a modern day version.
