Singers invited to commemorate WW1 in Chapel Allerton

St  Matthew’s Chapel Allerton in Leeds is marking Remembrance Sunday (9 November) with a large-scale collaboration of musicians from across the region, culminating in a service of readings and music, with Mozart’s Requiem taking centre stage.

Singers from across the region are invited to join St Matthew’s Choir and the West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra in a weekend of rehearsals and performance, from Friday 7 November (7.30pm), with the commemoration taking place on Remembrance Sunday, 9 November at 7pm, at St Matthew’s.

St Matthew’s is a thriving parish with an established, robed choir and a very strong musical tradition.

The West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra is an amateur orchestra based in Leeds whose aim is to perform classical music to a high standard and bring it to a wider community who'd not normally consider attending a classical concert.
