St Bartholomew’s Church, Marsden, has joined with the Marsden Scout Group to organise an inventive festive fundraiser to help raise money for the Scout’s expedition to Switzerland.
The church and Scouts are inviting local people to come and sing with Santa next Friday as they lead a carol-singing tour of Marsden.
David Corps, from St Bartholomew’s, says, “The church music group are providing the tunes, and Scouts the voices, for this carol-singing tour of the village.
“We're starting from the United Church around 8pm, and anyone's welcome to come and ‘sing along with Santa’.”
The money raised from the event is being shared between the Scout group and the church.
The Scouts are currently raising money to fund their first expedition to the Kandersteg International Scout Camp in Switzerland - the World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
The Centre provides the opportunity for Scouts from all over the world to meet together 1200m high in the Alps and take part in adventure and team-building activities.
Everyone is welcome to this festive fundraiser which will begin outside the United Church on Peel Street in Marsden at 8pm on Friday 18th December.
