The Dean of Ripon has a lesson in pulling a good pint

The Dean learns to pull a pintThe Dean of Ripon has been learning how to pull pints ahead of the Ripon Cathedral Beer Festival which takes place next Bank Holiday weekend.

The Very Revd John Dobson will be helping to serve the hundreds of festival goers expected to turn up in the grounds of Ripon Cathedral after receiving lessons in pulling the perfect pint from landlord of the nearby Water Rat pub, Rick Jones.

The 10th Anniversary Festival takes place on May Day Bank Holiday Monday, May 4, from 11.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in the grounds of Ripon Cathedral.  Although there are some 47 different northern ales at the event, it has developed into a family day out with hot food, a bouncy castle, face painting and craft table for children.  There will also be live music from Two Well Worn, singing duo, King Courgette, Roosters, and Nine Bar Bands.Beer Festival

Several  local businesses support the event which aims to raise funds towards the £5m target for the Cathedral’s Music Trust – securing the musical future of the Cathedral through providing accessible musical training, development of the Cathedral Choir, and an outreach programme to take music to the region.

Entrance to the event is £3.50 for adults… more information here
