The light shines in Harrogate this Christmas

Harrogate will be lit up this season with hope and joy, thanks to new trails from churches in the area.
#thelightshines is a new project from churches in Harrogate looking to flood the town with light, hope and love, by encouraging everyone to decorate one of their windows and display them in the dark nights of Advent.
The displays are going to be plotted onto various trails and maps, and shared on the web and social media so people can see them all as they walk around the town.
The Revd Alan Garrow, Vicar of St Peter’s Harrogate, said: “We wanted something this year as a response to the feeling Christmas may be ‘cancelled’.
“As we venture into the New Year, so much is still unknown.
“We serve people who are looking for the church to speak into that darkness.
“We want to offer the people of Harrogate a message of hope and leadership, and show them that the church can be the answer to people looking for direction in the coming year.”
