Ripon Cathedral’s popular Spring Food, Home and Garden Show returns this April (Saturday 14 April) with more stalls than last year and top experts giving both cooking and gardening demonstrations.
Lee Rushforth (pictured right), Head Chef at The Old Deanery Hotel, a quarter finalist on BBC MasterChef The Professionals in 2014 will be giving two live cookery demonstrations. On the menu, Lee will be cooking up a feast including Guinea fowl with braised lettuce, brie truffle and pea, duck and honey dressing and a chocolate demonstration for the audience to taste.
Sue Nelson, from Yorkshire Food Finder, will also be running a food demonstration as well including some of the finest produce found in Yorkshire.
Gardening expert Doug Stewart will be running a Gardening Advice Centre throughout the day, and there will be an opportunity to come and meet a bird of prey from Thorp Perrow, with the option to have your photograph taken holding one of the birds.
The Spring show will be in aid of the Ripon Cathedral Development fund. Last year, the inaugural show saw hundreds of visitors coming through the cathedral doors. This year more traders have booked to exhibit with stalls ranging from homemade chutneys and jams, to garden sculptures, homewares, freshly baked bread and cakes, fruit liqueurs and artworks.
Family friendly activities will run throughout the day as well as a café serving pulled pork rolls, homemade cakes and hot drinks.
The Spring Food, Home & Garden Show will take place on Saturday 14 April at Ripon Cathedral, from 10.00am until 4.30pm. Entry to the show is £3 for adults, and free for children.
