All Hallows in Leeds is holding an unusual pay-what-you-feel dinner and concert in aid of Wheatfields (Sue Ryder) Hospice.
On Saturday 5 March, food will be provided by the The Real Junk Food Project and music by Bassoonery – ‘Sounds that’ll make earthworms wriggle’.
Bassoonist, David Buck (left), says, “Bassoonery is an entertaining programme of music for bassoon and string quartet using a variety of styles (baroque, classical, folk, jazz) with some stories and anecdotes thrown in too. (Each of the musicians has professional performance experience.)
“I work as Spiritual Care Co-ordinator at the hospice and it’s really good to have this opportunity to share music and raise money for Wheatfields. We’re very grateful to All Hallows Church for making this concert possible; they have a significant presence in the community, not least through The Real Junk Food Project, which aims to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and build community.”
The concert starts at 7.30pm with a pre-concert dinner available from 5.30pm. (Please book for meal via Emma@cafe.allhallowsleeds.org.uk )
Entrance to the concert is by donation – please give what you can.
Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley supports people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, offering medical care, practical and emotional support for patients and their loved ones. It costs £11,000 a day to run, with much of that coming from the public.
