\'Unusual\' Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

A group (pictured) from the Ripon Deanary have recently returned from a different kind of pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Organised and devised by the Revd Alison Askew, vicar of three rural parishes close to Boroughbridge, those who travelled enjoyed an "unusual" pilgrimage meeting local Christians, experiencing daily life in the occupied West Bank, visiting charities as well as worshipping at the major pilgrimage sites.

There was also the opportunities for the group to share Holy Communion at famous settings such as Jerusalem, The Shepherds’ Fields in Beit Sahour and the Sea of Galilee. Canon Michael Glanville-Smith, from the Ripon Deanary, also lead the worship and was the spiritual guide for the week.
