It’s not every day you get to witness a murder in Wakefield Cathedral, much less be part of your own crack team of experts who work together to solve the crime.
But in March the Cathedral will open its doors to do just that with its Murder in the Cathedral event - to raise funds for the landmark building's latest refurbishment project. Project 2015.
The Cathedral Chapter need £2.2m to renew the East End - Project 2015 will see the East End of the Grade 1 listed building shine again, with clean walls, new lighting and electrics, a level floor, a renewed St Mark’s Chapel and the creation of a quiet area for those who want to simply sit or light a candle.
The music area below in the vestry – the engine room of the Cathedral’s world-renowned choir – will also be renewed as part of this project.
And on Friday March 20, a professional team of actors from one of Britain’s premier Murder Mystery Event Companies will provide both victim and suspects and weave a rich tapestry of clues, motives, and red herrings.
All that is missing is you and your crack team of detectives! Tables of 10 cost just £200 and include supper and a cash bar. Individual tickets are priced at £20 per head.
