The aisle of Ripon Cathedral will become a catwalk for the day this Saturday January 28th as The Wedding Affair company holds its fifth annual wedding fair in Ripon Cathedral.
As in previous years, the company has pledged £5000 to the Cathedral Development Campaign and Music Trust. More than 90 companies and businesses will be exhibiting from 11am to 3pm and already 300 engaged couples have booked in to attend the event.
Two professional catwalk shows will showcase bridal wear, menswear, mother-of-the-bride outfits and bridesmaids dresses.
The Wedding Affair are also attracting visitors with the promise of complimentary cocktails, a hog roast and vintage tea rooms.
Entry to this year’s Cathedral wedding fair is £3.50 (pre-booked) or £5 (on the door) per person.
Over the past five years, the Ripon Cathedral Development Campaign has been helped by a total of £25000 from the wedding shows. It now aims to raise £5m over three years. The Music Trust is aiming to endow the cathedral music in perpetuity, secure and develop the cathedral’s reputation as a major centre of musical excellence, provide accessible musical training through membership of the Cathedral Choir and develop an inclusive outreach programme to take musical excellence into the region.
