Pictured is a packed meeting of Wensley Deanery at the weekend where discussions took place over future strategy for the deanery and the wider Ripon Episcopal Area.
A series of meetings are being held in deaneries as part of the ‘Vision 2030’ initiative. Beginning last year, each parish and deanery of the Ripon Episcopal Area is being challenged to come up with plans to encourage church growth, lay leadership and mission.
More than 120 people came to the church hall at Newton le Willows. Taking part were the Bishop of Ripon, Dr. Helen-Ann Hartley and Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven, Ven. Bev Mason.
The Revd Chris Lawton said, “We have looked at some great lay led projects.
“We were given an overview of the situation we face and are now looking at possible ways to meet the challenge and grow into a new way of being God's people in this place.”
