A free training seminar on external communications on 1st October at the Leeds Diocesan Office will change the way people see and react to your church.
Experts will be on hand to give practical tips and advice to help you face up to the challenge of making the most of external communications in this noisy world.
What does your building currently communicate? Who is walking past your church and what do they see? What message are you trying to convey?
The seminar will tackle all these questions as well as inform about the practical learnings from research on perceptions of churches and explain the benefits of using national campaigns and coordinated messages across churches.
Advice will also be given on how to remain consistent in your communications from outside to inside and from physical to digital, and practical ideas, examples and suggestions of external signage, noticeboards, internal displays and wayfinding will also be given.
The seminar will be led by an expert from CPO (Christain Publishing and Outreach), an organisation that has been running since 1957 but that only recognised the need for churches to make the most of their external communications over the past few years.
The training session will take place on Thursday 1st October between 13:30 and 15:30 at the Leeds Diocesan office. To express your interest, please email: commsassistant@westyorkshiredales.anglican.org
The training seminar will also be taking place in York on Wednesday 30th September between 6pm and 8pm at: Diocesan House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York, YO30 4WJ. To express your interest in this seminar, please email: Eleanor.Course@yorkdiocese.org
