The longest, hottest summer in recent memory led to dozens of great images from across the diocese being entered in our Capture a Christian Summer competiton.
And the winning picture is now up as a new banner on our website.
The fun competition ran on our Leeds CofE Camera Club Facebook page from the start of the school holidays until last weekend.
And as we enjoy Harvest Time and Creationtide - the pick of the crop is a stunning panoramic image of St Mary's Church, Masham (above) hosting a barbecue for visiting friends from the Sharakat Project based at St Paul's, Manningham.
Congratulations to Revd Nick Morgan of St Mary's, who took the picture and also explained the background:
"This was a visit from the Sharakat Project based at St Paul's Church in Manningham https://www.facebook.com/TheSharakatProject
"They had a coach trip to us, enjoying the view on the way, then had a chance to explore Masham, come on a riverside walk, then a barbecue lunch as pictured," Nick said.
"There was a return visit earlier this month by representatives of the Masham Group of Parishes for the Sharakat Eid Party."
The runner-up was this vibrant and energetic picture sent in from the Lighthouse Academy of St George's church Leeds, taken while they were enjoying a retreat at the Westwood Christian Centre near Huddersfield:
Third place goes to this photo of sunny outdoor worship taking place to celebrate the 150th anniversary of St John's, Lepton which was attended by Bishop of Huddersfield, Rt Revd Jonathan Gibbs:
Our fourth finalist was this shot of Wakefield Cathedral beneath a classic summer sky by keen lensman and diocesan Director of Ordinands and Vocations, Revd Derek Walmsley:
Many thanks to all those who sent in photos to the Leeds CofE Camera Club over the summer and please keep contributing - especially as we all gear up to capture Christmas!
