This Friday is World Day of Prayer, and one of our churches in the Ripon area is offering a service to mark the moment.
St Mary’s Richmond with Hudswell, Downholme and Marske, and St Michael’s Lambourn in Berkshire, have joined together to offer a service via Zoom at 3:00pm on Friday, March 5.
Church branch secretaries of the World Day of Prayer Margaret Clayson and Wendy Holmes will be joined by representatives of other churches to lead the worship.
This year’s service has been prepared by women from Vanuatu in the Pacific, offering an opportunity to view their island communities.
Vanuatu comprises a group of islands near Australia where gender inequality, dangerous weather conditions and an uncertain economy threaten livelihoods and education.
