Wakefield Cathedral has launched a photographic competition to find its winning image for next year’s Christmas card.
They want to encourage keen photographers - young and old - to use the festive season to find the best images for next year’s selection of Christmas cards.

Curate, the Revd Tim Stevens, explained: “What better time of the year to try and capture the winning image; we want to launch this competition now so everyone has the best chance of seeing their image on cards in Wakefield Cathedral’s Christmas Shop collection next year.”
The competition called Your Christmas, has three categories:
Images of Wakefield Cathedral - Either the building, a part of the building, or an image capturing Cathedral life at Christmas or beyond.
Images of the city – festive images of our city in winter
Under 16 category – this is open to anyone aged 16 and below and should be a seasonal image relating to Wakefield
The winning image in each category will be chosen by the Acting Dean and Chapter with the top four images in each category going on display in a special Your Christmas photographic exhibition in the Cathedral in Autumn.
The winning image in each category will go on to become Wakefield Cathedral’s 2018 Christmas Cards and will go on sale in the Cathedral shop next Autumn. There will be prizes for the winners including a pack of their winning cards.
All entries MUST be emailed to Christmas@wakefield-cathedral.org.uk
CLOSING DATE 4pm 31 March 2018.
