The Bishop of Ripon and the Benefice of East Dere Street covering the parishes, of Barton, Cleasby, Eryholme, Croft on Tees, Manfield, and Middleton Tyas are looking to appoint a priest to the post of Rector.
The Benefice is located near to the heritage town of Richmond, and in between the two great national parks of North Yorkshire. Whilst in a rural area, it has excellent transport links with the A1 and A66 highways nearby, and Darlington mainline station only 20 minutes drive away. The parishes are looking for an incumbent who can exercise strong leadership with confidence and compassion, and who will bring life, energy and creativity to worship, whilst honouring traditions and customs.
In particular, our new Rector will :
- Have a passionate faith and prayer life
- Be a strong, collaborative leader, and a good communicator
- Inspire, support, and equip others to use and develop their gifts
- Work closely with our 3 primary schools, and encourage the development of dynamic and varied opportunities to work with children and young people.
- Continue to unite the 6 parishes into a cohesive and vibrant church community that will share and fully exploit the many skills, experience and talents that are abundantly available in our PCCs and congregations.
