Four and five year olds from a Barnsley school said 'I do' this week in a mock wedding event that had them all reaching for their best clothes.
The children from the Early years and foundation key stage one at Doncaster Road Primary school invited their parents, chose bridesmaids and best men.
A local florist provided the flowers... and they even had a cake.
The vicar, the Revd Paul Cartwright was in charge at the mock ceremony in St Peter's just off Doncaster Road said,
“It’s always good to be able to bring learning to life.
"It was a great joy to be involved in this wedding, although I don’t think I’ve ever met a bride who has been as coy. This kids, staff and parents really got into their roles; I think there may even have been a few proud tears from some of the teachers and parents”.
After the event the children returned back to Doncaster Road Primary School where Fr Paul is a Governor and held a celebration, tucking into some well-deserved juice and wedding cake.
