The Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel is responsible for the oversight of policy, procedures, training and guidance and is accountable for safeguarding work throughout the Diocese. This Committee, led by a chairperson who is independent of the Church, has a proportion of members who represent the statutory agencies, who also bring about a degree of independence and challenge.
The Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel meet three times a year. In 2022 members welcomed a new Independent Chairperson, whose extensive experience in safeguarding has included strategic senior leadership roles in safeguarding. The Committee was pleased to welcome someone with such a wealth of experience to bring both support and challenge to safeguarding to the Diocese.
