The Great North Art Show featuring impressive work from over 50 artists, takes place within beautiful Ripon Cathedral and for the first time in its 10 years has an Artist in Residence, Rob Pointon.
Rob is known for his extensive range of work in oils, all of which are produced on location around the UK and abroad. Rob studied at the Princes Drawing School in London and has collectors of his work all over the world, he also has pieces in the private collection of HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Devonshire.
As Artist In Residence this year, Rob is painting both within the cathedral and at locations in, and around Ripon. One of the finished paintings produced during his residency will be donated to Ripon Cathedral to be auctioned in aid of funds at the Angel Tree Dinner to be held on Friday 26th September. A sparkling reception, four course gourmet dinner with speaker and musical entertainment in the stunning setting of the Cathedral, raising funds for the Music Trust. The Great North Art Show runs until Sunday 21st September, attracting over 12,000 visitors and set against the magnificent backdrop of the cathedral is well worth a visit.
