The Diocese of Leeds is proud to announce it has been accredited by the Good Business Charter, marking us as an employer with responsible business practices.
The Good Business Charter looks to recognise organisations which prioritise and care for their employees, the environment, customers and suppliers, whilst also paying their taxes according to the spirit of the law.
It measures business behaviour over 10 different components: paying a real living wage, fairer hours and contracts, employee well-being, employee representation, diversity and inclusion, environmental responsibility, paying fair tax, commitment to customers, ethical sourcing, and prompt payment.
The Charter has the support of both the CBI and the TUC, which both have trustee representation on its board.
Other partners of the GBC include the Living Wage Foundation and the Prompt Payment Code.
Jonathan Wood, Diocesan Secretary, said: “I am delighted we are now accredited by the Good Business Charter.
“This recognises our commitment to treating everyone well and playing our part in behaving responsibly.
“I am proud of what everyone does to make the diocese a great place to work!”
