New Green Showcase to show off eco church projects across the country

How churches are working to combat climate change across the country is going to be shown off as part of the Church Times’ new Green Church Showcase, and they are looking for stories to share.

The paper, in collaboration with members of both the Church of England and Roman Catholic environmental working groups, is looking for inspiring church initiatives which protect the planet.

Selected projects will feature in a specially commissioned video to be launched during the COP26 climate talks in Glasgow at the start of November.

An accompanying booklet and online resources will be made available to give other churches and groups the tools they need to replicate the best environmental projects.

The Bishop of Norwich and the Church of England’s lead Bishop for the Environment, the Rt Revd Graham Usher, said: "In this vital year for climate action, I encourage churches and church schools around the country to tell their stories.

“The Showcase aims to celebrate practical action on the ground and, through these real examples of what is possible, inspire others."

Submissions are invited from churches, schools and groups from any denomination.

More details, and the submission form, can be found here.
