A new hymn has been written by a priest in our diocese looking to share God’s hope in the time of COVID.
The hymn, written by Lisle Ryder, a retired priest in the benefice of Lower Wensleydale, looks to lament what we have lost during the pandemic, while looking to the future when we can meet again, and how we should care for one another.
It is to be sung to the tune as for the hymn 'Now then we all our God'.
Lisle retired to Newton-le-Willows in the Lower Wensleydale Benefice in 2008 after spending the larger part of his ministry in Hospital Chaplaincy.
Since then, he has served as a voluntary Chaplain at Holy Rood House in Thirsk.
As well as writing poetry and the occasional hymn, he has been involved in the village Climate Change Group and now the Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership.
The hymn can be found here.
