QR codes \"share the Gospel in a new and contemporary way\"

Christians from churches in Central Barnsley came together on Good Friday to walk the Way of the Cross.

Members from the five churches in the Benefice of Central Barnsley were joined by the Bishop of Wakefield, the Rt Revd Tony Robinson, and the Archdeacon of Pontefract, the Ven Peter Townley as they made there way through the town centre.

The walk included a short reflection, produced by members of each church, and a visit to fifteen different shop windows where QR codes had been placed, to encourage people to pray during Holy Week whilst out shopping and to follow the route.

Commenting on the walk, Bishop Tony said, “This has been a fantastic initiative within the Benefice and has shown a real desire of the local church to share the Gospel in a new and contemporary way.”

Each of the online reflections, representing the Stations of the Cross, can be found here on St George's Church website, along with the locations of the fifteen QR codes found across Barnsley town centre.
