Strong competition at Bradford Garden Festival

prize givingThere were forty-seven entrants to this August’s  BD3 Garden Festival which was hosted and organised at St Clement’s Church, Bradford.  The competition entrants came from all sections of the community, with all ages and all religions represented.

This is the tenth year of the competition organised by the St Clement Anchor Project’s Cathy Knamiller (pictured left presenting prizes), and ORBE’s Humera Khan (Otley Road and Barkerend Environment). There were several categories in this year’s competition, with awards in each: yard, medium garden, allotment, and community garden.  Among the prize winners  was a seven year old girl who had entered the allotment category.

In addition, St Clements also hosted an exhibition of local photographs and exhibitis of  beekeeping (including a fine selection of honey for sale) and of care for the environment. Pictured below are Georgina Graydon and Vivienne Dwyer.
