The bellringers of Holy Trinity Skipton are celebrating the centenary of the recasting of the bells this year with a summer-long Festival of Bells.
A special Festival Service was held on Sunday, July 18 with the Bishop of Ripon, the Rt Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley presiding and preaching.
She rededicated the bells after their refurbishment and blessed the Skipton bellringers.
Bells and bellringing formed a big part of the service, including bell-shaped prayers written and read by children from the Parish Church School, change-ringing on handbells and an anthem for choir, organ and handbells.
The festivities concluded with handbell ringing outside and a wonderful trio of bell-themed cakes made by one of the bellringers.
Bishop Helen-Ann is pictured with former Tower Captain Dibgy Burton cutting a cake and current Tower Captain Richard Wheelhouse.
The Festival of Bells continues with exhibitions in Skipton Library, the Craven Museum and Holy Trinity Church Skipton and a hands-on Taster Day is planned for September.
